Red Bricks Media is an independent agency headquartered in San Francisco, with offices in New York and Hong Kong, creating world-class marketing programs for top brands like Microsoft Higher Education, Hearst Magazines, THQ and the Los Angeles Times.
We are looking for a proactive, flexible self-starter to play a key role on our natural search marketing team. The Search Strategist will work with a roster of clients to increase visibility in organic search results, maximize clicks and conversions, develop integrated online marketing campaigns, and prepare detailed performance reports. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on a variety of projects with tight timelines and quick turn-around but who also enjoys stepping back for big-picture analysis.
We expect the Search Strategist to dedicate their efforts to the success of our clients. This job is for people who will naturally occupy down time by finding ways to innovate and improve our strategies and processes. Despite our culture of hard work, we play hard too. Our company outings (which include movie nights, camping, baseball games, karaoke, and more) and our onsite rituals are designed to provide well-deserved relief and reward to our hard-working teams.
While a background in SEO is not required, it is a bonus. Candidates with a strong marketing and / or analytical background will also be considered favorably.
Responsibilities
- Ability to achieve top rankings on the major search engines through search engine compliant web site optimization
- Ability to implement all aspects of a search engine optimization campaign, including:
- Keyword research and analysis
- Competitive analysis
- Strong copywriting skills with ability to research and write original copy that meets corporate style guidelines and reinforces branding goals
- Optimization using HTML, CSS, and internal linking strategies
- Ability to research and acquire effective one way links o Familiar with evolving SEO strategies, such as feeds, blogs, social media and vertical search

Compensation depends on experience.
