HISTORY
Red Bricks Media was founded by Elliott Easterling and Craig Hordlow in 2003. The two friends slowly built a reputation as an innovative search engine optimization firm despite working amongst spools of power cords and Ethernet cables in Hordlow’s dining room for six months. As business grew, Elliott called upon Ed Kim, a former associate from his digital marketing days at Digital Impact, to revamp their approach to sales and client services. Beth Morgan, another former Digital Impact employee, joined the group a few months later, taking charge of Red Bricks Media’s first major paid search success with Adobe. Over the next three years, the search and performance marketing start-up continued to make a splash, winning respect and business from clients like Hearst Corporation, Pacific Life Insurance, and Seagate. By the end of 2006, Red Bricks Media had morphed into a full-service interactive agency with over thirty employees and 300% in compounded revenue growth. It is now happily located in an actual red brick building at 1062 Folsom Street in the heart of San Francisco’s SOMA district between 6th and 7th Streets.
